Important Information for your appointment
Please read carefully to plan for your appointment.
Referral
The Referral letter allows us to communicate with your referring doctor, and allows you to access your medicare benefits (rebates) for your consult fees on the day.
Please look at the appointment type you have booked.
NEW Referral Appointment Type
If you have selected a NEW Referral appointment, you will need to bring a New GP Referral. You can bring that on the day, or send it in earlier if you like.
VALID Referral Appointment Type
If you have selected a VALID Referral appointment, you would use your previous referral and won't have to bring a new referral.
If you would like to use a previous referral, is your responsibility to ensure that it is valid and has not expired.
A Referral from a GP usually lasts for 12 months, and from a Specialist is usually lasts for 3 months.
If you are not sure if your previous referrral is still valid, please contact us. Please note: If you wish to use a previous referral, you must select a VALID Referral appointment type when booking. Investigations
- If you would like Dr Kapila to review any investigations during your consult, please bring them with you.
- Hearing tests (old and new)
- CT, MRI or X-rays (images, as well as the report)
- Sleep study reports (old and new)
- Blood test results

- For the safety of staff and other patients: - Please advise if you have tested positive for covid recently, or are identified as a close contact. - Please advise if you have been unwell.

Consult fees
Cancelling an Appointment
To cancel an appointment, you will need to contact us, even if you booked on Hotdoc.

Please do let us know as soon as you can when you'd like to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer the slot to other patients who may be waiting.
We do not impose cancellation fees, and we understand that unexpected events can change your plans. However, due to long waits for appointments and to minimise wait times for all patients, please note that after the 2nd cancellation, or for a cancellation within 1 business day of the appointment, you will be required to pay a deposit to book your next appointment.
The deposit is non-refundable, but is fully redeemable against the consult fee so there’s no extra cost to you overall.
